The idea

Radio amateurs have always found a way to help each other.

Newsletters sent via mail, chat channels on a local 2 meters frequency or even calling each other in the middle of the night are just a few examples how we have sent tips to our fellow amateurs.

Then, one day, AB5K Terry released the AR-cluster software. Suddenly you could get (and send) information about DX activities, rare contest stations and much more on your computer screen using Packet Radio. Several clusters could be connected to each other - that is what a cluster is, several computers/servers working together - an information could be received from quite a large area. The DX-cluster Network was born!
